Catering Sales Manager

Responsibilities

• Proactive Sales Efforts: Actively pursue leads and manage existing accounts via telephone outreach, site inspections, and written communication.
• Market Engagement: Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings to stay informed about market trends, competition, and customer needs.
• Client Communication: Ensure all sales agreements and function contracts are clearly communicated to relevant departments for optimal guest satisfaction.
• Collaboration: Work alongside the Director of Catering/Convention Services to implement successful sales strategies aligned with the Catering Sales Marketing plan.
• Facility Tours: Conduct tours of the hotel and banquet facilities, and entertain qualified potential clients in line with company policies.
• Leadership & Skills: Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational abilities, and revenue management skills. Maintain a guest service focus and a passion for sales.
• Professionalism: Uphold a professional appearance at all times; respond promptly to guest requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
• Networking: Regularly communicate with wedding planners, social contacts, and other industry professionals to build relationships and promote the property.
• Business Development: Seek new business opportunities locally and nationally, attending relevant functions and actively pursuing leads.
• Revenue Maximization: Utilize all available hotel space effectively to increase food and beverage revenues.
• Documentation: Provide accurate information to all departments regarding group needs, including Banquet Event Orders and Internal Communications.
• Event Management: Oversee function details to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Client Satisfaction: Anticipate client needs and address potential issues to deliver high service levels.
• Post-Event Evaluation: Review event billing for accuracy and conduct evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Experience Requirement: Prior catering sales experience with a proven track record is essential.
• Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills and a high sense of urgency are necessary. Preferably 2-4 years of solid social sales experience.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with Delphi is advantageous.
