Job Description

At Rancho Valencia Resort, the Houseperson plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our guest rooms, villas, and common areas. Responsibilities include ensuring the cleanliness of guest patios, entrance areas, stairwells, pathways, and linen closets. The Houseperson will also engage in deep cleaning, stocking and removing linens, pressure washing, carpet shampooing, and floor care. This role is essential in upholding our commitment to high-quality guest service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
Maintain cleanliness of pathways, stairwells, and public areas, including checking for debris and lighting issues.
Prepare pools in accordance with Rancho Valencia standards and perform periodic checks.
Review work assignments from the Housekeeping Department and clarify any questions.
Assist with stripping rooms and delivering housekeeping requests to guests.
Enter guest rooms following proper access procedures, ensuring rooms are vacant before entry.
Collect and clean dirty glasses per Rancho Valencia standards.
Support supervisors in preparing arrival rooms and complete general cleaning assignments.
Dispose of garbage and transport dirty linens to the laundry.
Dust, polish, vacuum, and perform deep cleaning tasks as needed.
Adhere to all OSHA and MSDS regulations and follow company safety policies.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and guests.
Participate in safety programs and support community service and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

Prior housekeeping experience, preferably in a luxury environment.
Experience with floor care.
Flexibility to work AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Strong ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in English for effective communication with guests and staff.
Ability to multitask efficiently.
Previous experience in a Five Diamond resort.
Dynamic and personable demeanor.
Problem-solving skills and ability to handle a variety of situations.
Attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure security of guest areas.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Good judgment in resolving issues.
Frequent need to perform activities such as reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 40 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to stand for long periods and move moderate distances.
Vision requirements include the ability to view small print and details.
Hearing requirements include the ability to communicate effectively and respond to alarms.

Qualifications
