Restaurant Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals are served professionally and promptly by engaging with both the kitchen staff and order takers.
• Address guest complaints effectively.
• Oversee the setup and maintenance of the room service area to meet quality standards.
• Ensure adequate staffing, supplies, and equipment to enhance the guest experience.
• Assist in hiring, scheduling, and supervising cashiers, supervisors, greeters, servers, and bus attendants.
• Participate in pre-meal meetings and provide ongoing training to staff to enhance performance.
• Help complete production reports and necessary requisitions, and regulate the distribution of supplies.

In addition to essential functions, supportive duties may include:

• Providing direct service to guests as needed, including serving, bussing tables, and general clerical/cashier tasks.
  Performing general cleaning tasks in compliance with health standards.
  Undertaking additional assigned duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to input information accurately using a moderately complex computer system.
• Supervisory skills, including assigning duties and evaluating service.
• Capacity to effectively manage internal and external customer interactions, requiring patience and tact.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and resolve problems in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

• Primarily indoor work in a controlled environment; must adapt to extreme temperatures (freezers at -10°F and kitchens at +110°F).
• Ability to sit for up to 5 hours; walking and standing required for the remainder of the day.
• Capacity to distinguish product quality and observe food preparation.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally, and trays or items weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
• Requires dexterity for operating office equipment and performing cleaning tasks.

Work Environment

• Ability to work effectively under stress and handle constructive criticism.
• Flexibility to change activities frequently and manage interruptions.
